Chapter 4

What was the elf to do?

A knight comes calling

The belle flowers rang their enchanted chimes... someone had come to the grove and laid forth an offering. The going rate for that alone these days had been ten silvers or a single gold coin, and the location wasn't an easy thing to get though and rumors were scarcely to believe. The legends and stories told of twin elves a brother and a sister that lured the noblility and knights into depravity... the tale were only half right.

You pick a vial from the shelf and drift to the copper basin and let a drop fall into the water and what you saw was an interesting sight.

A knight... one of note judging by the fancy armor... one of skill judging by the worn hilts and spattered blood upon his armor old but not too old... what seeped from under the plate was another story... impressive that he was able to to hold his composure.

You made a dramatic or at least an enigmatic entrance sitting behind him on a log as if appearing out of nowhere... an easy little flitting spell. "You're bleeding all over my grove dear Knight." You tell him with a lilting laugh, his injuries would be the end of him if your guess was right... but that was hours away at least some have held on for days in such a state.

The knight falls upon a knee... not out of reverence but his armor was heavy and he was going pale. "Y-you're real." He seemed surprised, even as you palmed the gold coin.

"Indeed I am... what is it they call me these days John or Doe it gets awfully confusing." Pocketing the coin "Were you looking for aid? Your condition is a costly endeavor." You're in a very strong position for negotiation.

"Y-yes Lord John, I will compensate you." He choked out though you had doubts he really could afford your services.

"Well, this will have to be payment extracted from what you have on your person and since I have your word." You pulled a pouch from your pocket and flicked a cloud of blue dust into the human's face and he fell ****... guess it was time to break out the healing tomes... it had been at least fifty years since you've done this sort of work.

The payment was going to be interesting considering the type of man this knight was. His armor would fetch a good price the swords were too well worn and the knight may need them. The chainmail had a sizeable hole torn in it so that harmed it's value. The rest of the knights possessions barely added up to three gold coins... that was including the two gold coins. Oh how you loved to have human's in your dept this game was going to be fun.

BUT first playing doctor, your plans were for another time.

What were your plans for this knight?
