A few weeks Later

Zuko was training Kya in swordsmanship, surprisingly she was a natural. As he watched her practice, he went over the events over the past few weeks. When he regained conscious, he was surprised to see Katara over him. It was a like dream, then she slapped him. He sighed, he couldn't blame her. He thought she still see him as an evil Fire Nation soldier. Then she pulled him into a hug, this shocked him but he smiled.

" How and why ?" Asked Katara, as she stared at him. He was puzzled at first, was she asking about switching sides. Then he saw her, at first he thought she was Katara's older sister.

Then he remembered, he blushed at seeing Kya. She looked at him and blushed too. She quickly turned away, hoping he didn't noticed.

" The spirits gave me a wish for saving the moon spirit." Said Zuko, smiling.

" But why ?" Asked Katara, as she stared at Zuko.

" Does it matter ?" Asked Zuko, he really didn't what to say but he was horrible lier.

" Thank you." Said Katara, then she kissed him on the cheek. Zuko couldn't help but blushed. As memories of the last timeline came flooding back.

Soon guards of the Chieftain of the Northern Water Tribe came in and said he wanted to see Zuko. Katara wanted to protest, saying Zuko needed more time to heal. Zuko said he was fine and left with the guards.

Soon he was in the main hall with Chieftain, Master Pakku, Aang, Sokka and Princess Yue. He was asked why he helped them against his own people. Zuko was glad Toph wasn't here, so he could at least not tell the whole truth.

" My Nation started this war for greed and pride. I couldn't no longer support it and once I learn of Zhao's plan. I decided to stop him, I feared the spirits would never forgive us if we killed a spirit." Said Zuko, which wasn't a complete lie.

They talked for some time, in the end they called him a hero and was allow to stay.

A few days after he spotted Kya along, she looked sad. Zuko talked to her and soon the two where in the house Kya and Katara where staying at. They talked, Sokka was Yue's bodyguard and Katara was training in water bending. So she had nothing to do, she was glad to be back and thanked Zuko. She said she felt useless and started crying. Zuko tried to comfort her but she just continued calling herself useless. Then it hit Zuko, he offer to train her swordsmanship. At first she refused but Zuko wouldn't back down.

Kya in the end gave in and Zuko started training her. When Katara found out, she wasn't pleased but Kya said she needed this. She never wanted to feel helpless and not be able to protect her children again. Katara nodded, but warn Zuko not to try anything. Neither of them saw Kya blushed at hearing that.

As the training continued, Zuko did noticed Kya taking quick glances at him. He didn't think much about it, Sokka did warn him about hurting Kya as well. She threaten to ground Sokka if he didn't apologized to Zuko.

Aang did talk him a few times over the weeks. Zuko was polite and offer to teach him fire bending but Aang refuse and ran off. Zuko just rolled his eyes and let it go.

They where set to leave to the Earth Kingdoms in the morning. Then suddenly a powerful blizzard happened. Sokka stayed in the palace with Yue and Aang stayed in the stables with Appa and Momo. So it was just him, Kya and Katara in the house. They where stuck do to the blizzard.
