A bad sign

"Ma! it about to come on!" i holler as i pick up the remote. She enters the living room drying her hands on her apron. The tv screen brightens and the station logo comes on, but no music is heard. All we can see is a typed announcement saying Phallus will no longer be seen,in it's place a rebroadcast of the evening news.

Looking to each other, i ask her what she wants to do now? She asks me if i want to go up early,saying no i pick up the evening paper and start to read the sport section. Ma reaches behind her chair,picking up her knitting bag and returns to her knitting of booties.

A knock comes to our door getting up i go to see who's there. Opening the door i see our little girl Diana standing there,lips a quivering. a teat in the corner of her left eye.

"Hi daddy!" as the tears start. "They cancelled Phallus!,my landlord kicked me out and i maybe pregnant!"

"There,there little one ,you know you can always have a place with us!" embracing her and walking her inside. Ma comes from the kitchen to see what all the fuss is,seeing Diana see rushes over and takes over comforting her.

"Well don't let it worry you honybun,the show wasn't that good anyway!" Ma says, then "I always wishes that you failed so you'd come back home where you belong!"
