A Visitor

You sit in your cell for an hour or two, trying in vain to make yourself comfortable on a pile of dusty sheets, when a lone Kobold comes down the tunnel and approaches the cell.

“Human, we talk. Brothers and me.”

Brothers? He must mean the community of Rat-Men.

“And we decide I get you first. Was one who found you. Then others.”

“Hold on a minute,” you say as you stand up, “Can’t we discuss terms first? And what do you mean by ‘get’? You can’t be talking about-”

“Mating. It only outcome, human. This our way. Best for you if you don’t resist.”

The Kobold enters the cell and moves toward you. His sudden movement causes you to take an unsteady step backwards and fall over. You steady yourself as best as you can, ready to leap up at any moment.

Recognizing your obvious intent to resist, the Kobold says, “That very bad idea, human. If I call guards, things get very rough. Not able to stop group from using you, but can make this first one easy if you let me”.
