A Tour through Level 5A

Author's Notes: For those wondering about when will the sex begin, we are getting a lot closer. I just wanted to set the stage first but we are almost there.

"...and over here is the Communication Center," I explained as I waved around.

My guests looked at the large collection of electronic devices, curiosity in their eyes. "So, you control your drones from here?"

"Among other things," I replied. "For examples, as you can see over there, that monitor is the one assigned to receive live video feeds of the vault's immediate surroundings from all angles, including the entrance when someone rings the doorbell. This one, on the other hand," I said as I pointed in another direction, "Is the monitor that gets an alert whenever my silent motion and my metal detectors I scattered around a mile radius pick up something relevant." I paused, then continued. "That was actually how I knew you were getting closer. You triggered one of the motion detectors I placed on the street that only get activated by high-speed movement and automatically received a picture of your car."

"Wow," Ava whistle, impressed, "you have really set up your security in such a way it would be quite hard to catch you off-guard."

I smiled at her, amused. "Indeed. And you have seen nothing yet." With that, I walked towards the far left corner of the room and the girls followed, excited to see what I had to top my last exhibit.

"Errr...what exactly is that?" Kate asked in puzzlement as the redhead stared at the picture above a currently turned off monitor.

"That, my dear guests, is one of my Solara 50 units," I replied in a dramatic tone. "Before this plague began, the Solara 50's were the best of the best when it came to solar-powered drones. They were designed to fly high above the clouds at around 65,000 feet, to give it unobstructed access to the sun, which will power the 3,000 solar cells that cover its 164 feet-long wings. The solar cells will also charge lithium-ion batteries stored inside the wing so it can fly at night, which means that this beautiful drone can fly uninterrupted, maintaining the same position in all seasons, for up to 5 years. Think of it as the closest thing I have to my very own satellite network."

"Holy shit," Carmen muttered in awe. "Just how rich were you?"

"Honestly? Not rich enough to get everything I ended up getting, at least initially," I confessed. "I only managed to get paid about 50 million dollars in cryptocurrency back when I was with the CIA, which sounds like a lot but for everything I wanted, it just wasn't enough, especially if I wanted it as fast as possible and hiring the best of the best when doing so. So, I decided to... well, tip the odds in my favor, I guess."

Luciana crossed her arms and tilted her head. "So, you are just going to be cryptic?"

"Hey, I'll have you know that phrasing your tours in ways that leave the client curious for more is the sign of a promising tour guide," I huffed playfully. "But no, I won't leave you hanging, I am just wondering when will you have your fill of shocking revelations for one day."

"Let's find out," Ava grinned, her blue eyes sparkling with interest.

"As you wish," I said with a smile before getting my facial expressions as serious as possible. "I spent about 3 million dollars on lottery tickets until I won the 1.5 billion Mega Million drawing last October and claimed the prize money anonymously. And as they say, the rest is history."

*Silence*

....

"Let me help you with that," I said, smirking, as I approached Luciana and manually closed the gorgeous Brazilian's jaw.

I took note that the sexy woman didn't seem to mind me touching her face, but a quick glance at my chronometer made me bet the shock was a factor there too.

It won't be too long before the serum will start to take hold, though.

"You know, come to think of it, after a week on the run I bet a hot shower would sound wonderful, right?"

They shook their head to clear their latest shock but nodded enthusiastically as soon as my message sink in.

"Then, follow me. I will give you a tour around the rest of the vault later."

We walked together in silence until we reached 2 floors down and they started looking around.

"All right, this is Level 5C, where the sleeping quarters and bathrooms are located," I explained. "My room is the one closest to the stairs," I said, pointing. "And when I leave it locked, it only opens with my fingerprint scanner so please don't get any ideas even if you are curious. That alarm can get annoyingly loud, especially at night."

They chuckled at that and motioned for me to continue.

"As for the rest of you, there are enough available rooms at the moment if any of you wants your own but, if you would feel more comfortable bunking together tonight, every room has two beds anyway. So, whatever you prefer."

Kate smiled at that. "These flexible options are much appreciated. Right girls?"

They nodded, smiling warmly at me. I resisted the urge to check the chronometer again and continued.

"You're welcome. Anyway, you will find the shower section down this corridor to the left. I am afraid though, that to save space for the bunker I had to put all the shower heads in an open area. Sorry for that," I muttered.

"Oh, come on, don't apologize," Carmen pouted in her Argentinian accent. "You have done so much for us already. We are not going to complain about something like that."

She turned around as if to make sure she spoke for the rest of them but no one contradicted her.

"Very well, I said evenly. "You will find the towels hanging on the way. Oh, and don't worry about running out of hot water. I have more than enough from solar and wind power to keep your bath warm. Take as long as you need to relax now that you are safe."

To my surprise, they started tearing up there and then and all four of them tackled me with a group hug.

"Thank you so much! It has been so miserable and scary out there," Kate said, crying.

"We thought we were going to get eaten or worse," Ava proclaimed as she wept.

"And then you took us in and share your home to us when you didn't have to," Luciana added, as she sobbed on my shoulder.

"And gave us hope again," Carmen declared, her tearful green eyes locked with mine. "How can we ever repay you?"

Suddenly getting emotional, I said the first thing that came to mind. "You can be there for me for as long as I am willing to be there for you."

They sniffed a bit longer, then nodded. "We promise," They whispered at the same time.

I held them together like this for a while longer. I caressed them softly, feeling their relieved breath on my skin. Absentmindedly, I started counting the freckles in Kate's face and smiled at how cute they looked up close. Eventually, they pulled away and said no more as they walked towards the showers.

I stared at their retreating forms, sighing as I realized something. "With or without that serum, I could get used to having them around," I whispered to myself.

I stayed there a moment longer. Then I turned around, heading upstairs to confirm the results.
