A Run In With A Professor

It took a second for Jean to compose herself enough to be able to talk about what happened to her, "I-I-I was r-r-running late so I was r-r-rushing across campus. I guess I must not have been looking where I was going because I ran right into Professor Lewis."

"Ooo, damn," said Marcus. "Out of all the professors, it was Lewis? That's so fucking unlucky." Professor Lewis was known for giving out harsh punishments and for not accepting any excuses.

"I tried to tell him that I was late for move-in day, but he told me to be quiet and strip," continued Jean. "I didn't want to be later than I already was so I just did what he told me."

"What did he do next?" asked Uriah, captivated by the story of his friend's punishment.

"So, are you ready for your extra duties this year?" asked Marcus, with a smirk.

"I can't believe you guys get to be teacher's aids while we have to be demonstration dummies," said Vee. "It's humiliating."

"Isn't that the point?" said Uriah. "You get to learn humility and respect while the school gets some help with the lower level classes."

"I guess," said Vee. "I don't know why they can't just use the first year girls for the demonstrations. They're in the classes anyways."

"Those girls don't have the experience being disciplined like you guys do," said Uriah.

"I don't think that's the compliment you think it is," said Vee.

"I kinda like the idea of being a demonstration dummy," said Jean.

Vee sighed, "Can't you be a little more respectful towards them, Marcus?"

Marcus snorted, "Why would I do that? They're little troublemakers who need to be disciplined."

"I think you're just buying into the propaganda," said Vee.

"It's scientifically proven, Vee," said Marcus. "You can't argue with science."

"Maybe if those research papers weren't decades old …" mumbled Vee.

"What was that?" said Marcus, leaning towards her.

"Nothing!" said Vee.

"Thought so," said Marcus. "I'm starving. Let's go get some food."

"Okay, one second," said Jean. "I just have to finish putting on this pillow case."

After Jean finished unpacking and making her bed, the group of friends made their way down the stairs and towards the food court. When they arrived the line for ice cream had disappeared, but the line for dinner was just starting to form.

"Great," said Marcus. "We made it before the dinner rush."
