A Lich and a Revenant

Venus was just entering the village when a wave of its citizen's flooded past her. She saw a man go down, his back on fire. The man screamed and writhed in agony for a moment becore a sword stabbed into his back and ended his misery.

The two abominations attacking the village were the type of monsters that even the most experienced and skilled Shadow Hunters couldn't kill. The source of the flames was a Lich. Liches were rare and powerful undead monsters simply because they were created from the vengeful spirits of a powerful mage. Most of them had been created over a thousand years ago when magic was first discovered in humanity. Several unjust witch trials had led to the deaths of innocent people, both magical and not. Some of those mages became Liches when their spirits couldn't rest after their deaths. This Lich wore flowing robes that had yellowed with age and had dirt and grime from when it had been buried. The head was only a skull, as was the left arm, but the rest of the undead monster seemed completely human, even if it showed signs of age and decay.

The other was a Revenant. Revenants were created by the unnatural revival of madmen, betrayers and killers. Their zombified skin turned red to represent the blood of their victims. Often they had some form of rot and the place where their hearts should be was replaced with a constantly open and bleeding hole. Most revenants wore heavy armor and carried two handed blades or axes, but this one was different in that regard. Its only clothing was pair of torn shorts and it carried a saber in each hand. The red skinned devil seemed to proudly let any and everyone see the hole where its heart had once been. Raven colored hair reached down the Revenant's back and Venus was certain that this man had been a barbarian tribesman in his lifetime.

Venus wasn't sure if she could win this fight, but if she she ran away more villagers would die. She was still trying to decide what to do when the revenant grabbed a young woman, a nymph if her alabaster skin and golden blonde hair were any indications, and threw her to the ground. Thankfully her enormous tits broke her fall.

"Another whore for our master! Valdin will be pleased!"

The lich hissed at his companion and pointed his staff at it.

"We need more than one. The ruckus you caused will scare most of these people away. We will have to travel farther to find more women now, fool!"

Two powerful undead talking about a master? Venus knew that it took someone or something really powerful to control a Lich or Revenant. Like perhaps, a Vampire that has already killed a skilled Shadow Hunter?

Could Venus let this lead escape her? Could she turn away from the people in need?
