Chapter 5 by Laisy Laisy

Will they stay together? Will they split up? Who will you follow?

[Kacie] Doing nothing is the best way to avoid conflict...

No, Kacie, the "refuse the adventure" route is never the way to go in those books! Give me a break! We're not inside of a book. This is reality. Sure, it's a reality that now involves Tricksters and magically changing into a girl, but it's still reality. The tropes of some book series don't apply here. I can't believe Anne would be so naive! Or that she's leave the apartment looking like... this!

You had watched Kacie storm back into her bedroom and slam the door, and for the past few minutes she's been sitting in her bed, berating her friend and generally being grouchy about the predicament she was now in. If only she knew that she was being watched even at this moment, she might have chosen to join her roommate, but from the short time you've been listening to her thoughts you've gotten the sense that she's the type to remain a skeptic even in the face over overwhelming evidence. Maybe you can still guide her towards the right choice if she gives you the chance.

The sound of the front door to the apartment slamming draws Kacie's attention. She crawls across her bed and looks out the window. She might be looking for her friend, but after a brief look she angrily pulls the blinds shut and draws the curtains.

She can make her own damned mistakes!

She sighs and looks around her bedroom.

Now, what am I supposed to do for the rest of the day?

Her computer desk looms in front of her. Two monitors stare back at her, glowing in the gloom of her dark bedroom. Hesitantly, she slides into her desk chair and clicks onto the internet browser.

I'm just browsing the internet. Nothing bad can come from that. I do it every day. I've never even gotten a computer virus.

She poses question to her search bar that she probably never thought that she would need an answer to: 'What would you do if you woke up as a girl?' You see her expression start to shift from curious to revolted over the next few minutes of reading. She shoves her mouse and keyboard away from her in disgust, and then lets out a deep sigh as she spins lazily in her chair.

What is wrong with people? Why would I want to stick anything up my—ugh! The internet is full of perverts. Fucking men! If they only knew. The only real answers were getting dressed and going out, going back to bed and hoping it all blows over, and trying to get more information about what happened.

What should Kacie do?
