Research Pact

Along with the Dwarves, Elves and Anu, the Darkin setup a borderless agreement for scientists and inventors so that people with those qualifications could come and go through each others borders without incurring fee's and having their needs accommodated to by the locals for free. This Pact was set into place so that the development of their civilizations wouldn't be hindered and that all opportunities could be seized. The humans and Harpies rejected this borderless program for fears that such a system could be abused by the other races for espionage and ulterior goals

Pink Army

Darkin are named such because of their blackened skin, and some of them having blackened eyes, making them ideal assassins, however their territory on the human drawn map that the world adopts is colored pink, this is due to the Humans considering the Darkins personalities and nature to be a complete 180 of their fearful appearance. The Darkin are often kind, compassionate and softly spoken, however this personality is often just a front, once a Darkin gets serious they make full use of their appearance and become terror incarnate. This strange contrast has lead the Humans to consider the Darkin soft and girl like, hence the pink coloration of their borders and the degrading insults of the countries soldier class named locally the 'Dark Army' has caused Humans to refer to them now as the 'Pink Army'.

The Guiding Hand

The Darkin's religious beliefs are that god takes the appearance of a giant hand, capable of modeling the world and it's many races like a carpenter could carve a piece of wood into a statue. The Darkin are very devout to The Guiding Hand but are not at all pushy in their gospel, after all there are no rules to adhere to within the religion, The Guiding Hand is merely an explanation for their creation and are thankful to that being, whether it regards their thanks or not. As such there's no monetary or power gain at the religions core, and while the Anu don't particularly buy the concept of The Guiding Hand they still respect the religion for what it is, a set of principles lacking earthly corruptions of greed and power.
