If you want to make your own adventure, it might be a good idea to branch off at the previous chapter (The sensors work fine... Kinda).

I'm probably going to continue with my own thing, but no one else has to. Think of everything up to this point as the pilot episode to a more famous television series.

Also like a more famous television series, adventures don't really have to follow some sort of continuity. You can write about something that takes place before or after anything (it doesn't even need to start with finishing those sensor calibrations). I do recommend that you at least leave a note for a reader if you happen to reference something that happened in another adventure.
