"No, thank you."

She's answered all my questions before I could even think of them. "No, thank you," I say.

"Have a great first day at ISU!" she says, turning to the next car.

"Yeah, you too," I say out of habit. It's only as I'm pulling away that I realize that it probably wasn't her first day at ISU.

I roll up the window and drive into the parking structure. Admittedly, I was a little bit more excited about getting in the building and meeting the other people on the floor than I was about lugging all my stuff up an elevator and a few flights of stairs.

It takes a while, but eventually I fill up one of the red move-in carts with some of my stuff and head for the elevators. The entire place is filled with tons of freshmen and their parents moving in to college for the first time, saying their goodbyes, et cetera. I imagine that if I hadn't commuted from home last year, I would've gone through the same exact situation.

The elevator doors are closing just as I'm bringing my cart along, so I ask whoever's inside to hold them for a moment. The doors slide open again, and I'm face-to-face with a sandy blond guy who's carrying a full-length mirror. I do a double-take and realize there are actually two people in the elevator, a pair of twin guys.

I smile as I push the cart in, maneuvering around theirs. "Thanks. Madison 5, please."

"We're already going there," the guy near the buttons says. "What's your room number?"

"Uh, 524," I struggle to remember. It still feels a little weird to be moving into a college dorm in my second year.

"Dude! We're in 523!" The one on the left says. "I'm Andrew, and this is my brother Oliver."

I shake their hands. "Mark. You guys are brothers? I never would've guessed."

"Ha," Andrew says. "It's easier for Mom and Dad to keep track of us if we both go to the same school, so we just decided to live together, too."

The doors open and they lead the way. There's a pretty small lounge area, and a door or two every few feet. Their door is right next to mine, and they open it with their key and push their cart inside.

"That's the last one. I think we're done," Andrew says. "Time for a drink, Oliver?"

"Yup," Oliver answers without hesitation. I dig out my keys and I'm about to unlock my room door when Oliver says, "Hey, Mark? You're more than welcome to join us. If you'd like."
