"I like the idea of you seeing other men"

Alice looks a bit surprised. "What about you?" she asks.

"What about me?" you ask. "I'm not sure I could do it. I'm usually busy, and I'm already happy enough with you," you say.

"That's..." Alice says, considering her words, "...kind of you, but I don't want you excluding yourself, feeling hurt or jealous, or missing out," she finishes. "I'd feel guilty if you did".

"It's fine," you admit. "Think of it this way: if I choose not to date around, I made a choice to not do it. What's important is the choice, right?"

"I suppose," Alice says. "And, you're okay with me making the choice to do it?"

"Yeah," you say. "And..." you stop, feeling suddenly self-conscious about what you were about to say.

"And what, baby?" Alice asks, after a moment.

"...and...don't worry about...stopping yourself. If you want to do...more...you have my blessing," you stutter out.

"More what?" Alice asks, before realizing what you mean. "Oh...I'm...not sure if I could do that," she admits. "I just meant, social stuff and just getting out more. Why, would you want me to..." she trails off.

Before she can say anything else, you say, "I just don't want you holding yourself back on my account. Do what feels right for you."

Alice thinks for what feels like a long time. Eventually, she says, "I'll...think about it. Thank you. But, I'm going to bed...would you take care of the dishes?"

"Sure baby," you say. Alice gets up from the table and kisses you. "Don't stay up too long," she tells you before heading to the bedroom. You clean up the table, dishes, and leftovers, and join Alice in the bedroom. She's facing away from you, and you can tell she's still awake, but decide not to interrupt her as you slip into bed.
