SUVI said

"I am female."

The voice had become more feminine now, softer in timbre and higher in pitch by fine degrees, though still obviously digital. The white light on her optical sensor seemed to shift slightly violet too.

"Right you are, SUVI," you said, clapping your hands together. "That was initial diagnostics done. Now let's-"

"I am your daughter," said SUVI, interrupting you with a ponderous statement, as if she was thinking out loud. You decided that the next iteration may need some adjustments to its familial identification settings.

"I guess technically... or philosophically, that is again a logical assumption," you began, anxious to change the subject. "But let's not dwell on that sort of thing. She didn't have a face to read an expression off of yet, but her tone of voice seemed acquiescent.

"Very well, Doctor."

With that settled you smiled and went onto the next phase.

What's next?
