"D for...Dad?"

There is a second of awkward silence. What the $%&* did I just say?

"Yes, daughter?" The man replies.

Time for some roleplay.

"I'm hungry. Can you feed me already?" Nat whines unwillingly. She's like a passenger in the back seat, watching as her body acts on it own.

For the rest of the night, the two converse over their meal, with the man constantly feeding Nat. Afterwards, they walk out of the restaurant (which they were in). That's when the man offers to give her a ride back home.

Nat agrees.

And I counted on it.

As they enter the car, the man places his phone on the phone mount and puts on his seatbelt. It is at that moment Nat hears the man's phone ring.

The name displaying on the phone? Chelsea.

Nat only knows one person who has that name. Someone close to him.

Her thoughts start to run wild. Is that my mom?

The man immediate declines the call and drives off. Throughout the journey, the phone rings again and again.
