The Summons

You know that saying about a guy who makes a list and checks it twice. Or that one about measuring twice and cutting once. Or even the classic saying about not being stupid.

All of those thoughts ran through my mind as a half a demon popped through my portal, smiled, and then grabbed me reaching through three layers of protection. I was hanging on for dear life to the rocks on the floor but I could feel them loosening. I knew being a warlock was high risk but holy shit I was just trying to summon some rocks from the underworld.

As the cobblestone, I was holding onto came out of the floor and I felt my self-touch the portal I realized none of it mattered though.
