Married at last
It had been a long work of diplomacy and persuasion, but finally, Callum and Rayla had managed to gather their families, friends and people together.
Yes, they could have easily settle for a more intimate cerimony. Ezram, Amaya, Ethari, all their loved ones would be there, but there would have been no point in marriage if they couldn't make Humans and Elves accept their relationship.
Initially, the difficulties had come all from Rayla's side. The Elders of her village had went as far as to summon her and question her about her relationship with the Human Prince.
"Is it true that you lie with him every night," they asked. Rayla had died of embarassment.
Katolians instead had seemed pretty indifferent to the matter. Maybe it was because Rayla had been reported as a Hero, or maybe because Callum was a Prince, and the people of Katolis kind of expected him to play the bachelor for a while, so it didn't matter if the girl in question was an Elf or a Cyclops or a wooden stool, they simply expected him to dump her and get himself another one after a while.
With the years and Rayla's absence from Silvergrove, Ethari had managed to convince some of the Elders and a few friends to accept the girl's feeling for the noble-hearted Human.
In turn, Katolis' court had grown preoccupied that the Prince wouldn't overcome his unsuitable crush for an Elf. They had started to take initiative, putting other girls on his path expecting to eventually sidetrack him. It was an ego-inflating perdiod for the Prince. That ended once the court went as far as putting a naked girl, the daughter of a Duke of great renown, in Callum's bed. It had been quite difficult for him to explain everything to Rayla, his sole and one true love.
At last, what really tipped the balance of things, was Ezram intervetion. He had been always one for integration and friendship between Humans and Elves, often to the point of udertaking drastic, unusal measure to reach the objective.
For example, had arranged for a few Elven families to come to Katolis, placing them in a new quarter, specifically built for them.
Well, when Callum had told the King that he wanted to marry Rayla, the Prince didn't expect his brother to turn the whole event in an occasion to forster his own social cause.
But that didn't turn out bad for the couple actually. In fact, thanks to the diplomatic pressure of the King of Katolis, with the other four Kingdoms somewhat aligned behind, he managed to involve all the Elven elites in the matter.
After almost a year of tireless work, inside and outside Katolis' court, the 'forbidden union' as it had been nicknamed, had gained enough supporters to be actually scheduled.
It had been a magnificent cerimony, an event to usher a new era of kinship between Elves, Dragons and Humans. Ezram had a grand hall built for the occasion, one so big that could fit even the new Queen of Dragons and her entourage. It was arranged that Callum would wear a traditional Elven wedding suit and Rayla a traditional Human wedding dress.
Both the Prince and his betrothed ended up looking quite silly, Rayla especially, wrapped in a pearl-white, frilly gown that did little justice to her pink complexion.
But that was a little price to pay for happines and they payed it with a smile.
The celebrations went on for three days and night, as it was custom in Katolis. It let the couple spent and stressed, just as much as a year and a half of preparations.
As they were resting, laying next to each other watching the ceiling of their bedroom, they tried to gather the energy to finally cosummate their marriage.
It wasn't like they didn't had sex before, in fact they had many times already, especially over the course of the last months while they made preparations for the wedding together.
Still, they both felt it should have been the final seal to their love quest to do it in their marital bedroom, the first night as husband and wife.
"Maybe you should put your wedding dress back on," groaned Callum.
"No way. Maybe you should put it on,"replied Rayla.
"I think you looked sexy in it, just saying..."
"I looked silly and stupid."
"But sexy. Silly but sexy, Honey," insisted Callum. He rolled over her.
"You're heavy. Move."
"Sorry, it doesn't seem to want to do his job tonight," sighed the Prince sitting up on the bed.
"It's ok, Love, you don't have to prove me anything. I know it does work, you're just too tired. I'm tired too, but I don't need to get my blood pumping. The advantage of being a woman I guess," smiled Rayla taking her husband hand in hers.
"So it just 'works', uh? That's not what you said last week behind the gazebo in the royal garden." The Elf blushed. She was still pretty self-conscious of her sexual needs, even inf front of her Husband.
"It works great, ok? You took me savegely, as the brute you are, with your incredible Human manhood."
They giggled, then kissed, then slumped back on the bed.
"You know what? I have an idea," said Rayla rolling on her side. "A way to get rid of some stress and well, it may even manage to revive your little Human 'fella' down there," she smiled.
"Little?" frowned Callum rolling towards her.
What was Rayla's idea?
