Zubeya grants her favor

“Young Callum, given the history of your kind with magic, I should probably be more cautious, but in truth I can see your heart is pure and your intentions are good. You will have my favor in this endeavor.”

“Thank you, my Queen. I don’t know how express my gratitude,” said Callum bowing his head to hide the excitement on his face.

“You should wait to thank me, Callum. I will grant you my support, but the Elves of Xadia, they rule themselves in full autonomy. I may be the Queen of Dragons, but I cannot overrule the Elven Kings and Queen’s decision on their internal affair. I will vouch for you, I’ll make sure that Ibis sends message to the six Kingdoms, but if they will decide to refuse to help you, I won’t be able to do anything about it.”

“Oh. That is fine, my Queen. First off I will have to concentrate my efforts on the attempt to establish a link to a Second Primal Source, only afterwards I will need a proper teacher. For now, all I ask is the permission to move freely through all Xadia.”

“That is easily granted. You will be officially appointed as my herald , you will be recognized as under my and Zym’s protection. Go now, find your destiny, Callum.”

The young mage bowed low then made for the exit of the throne room.
On the threshold, he turned and scurried back to Zym which pounced over him with all his now considerable weight.
“I’ll be ffff-fine Zym, don’t worry,” he said to the dragonling lapping his face with his electrocuting tongue.

Later that afternoon, Callum had finished packing his most treasured belongings in a bag and was making the last preparations to leave the place that had been his home for the last year.
There was still the note to Ibis to write, but he knew the Skywing Elf Mage would have understood his reason.
He had resolveed to set out at dawn.
The only decision left for him to make was where to go.

He had studied a little of the Xadian geography, so he did know where five of the six Nexus were: Moon, Sun, Air, Earth and Water. They all seemed like a good place where to start.
Then again, he hadn't needed to visit the Air Nexus to conquer his first Arcanum, so maybe any place would have been as good as any other.
