Lilly gets mugged!

Lilly handed out gold to the assembled commoners for at least an hour, every time met with overwhelming thanks and gratitude. By the time the princess's coinpurse was finally light, the crowd was all but cheering her name. With a winning smile and a perfectly rehearsed bow, Lilly prepared to address her people.

"Always remember, the royal family cares for its subjects, no matter how small!" Lilly said, earning a round of applause from the gathered commoners. "Now I shall bid you all a good day, and promise that I shall return again in the near future."

As Lilly left her adoring crowd behind her, she couldn't help but feel a swell of pride. Just wait until her father heard about what she did here today! The common folk weren't about to forget such a wonderful act of charity from the heir to the throne, and repeat performances could only generate even more goodwill!

Lilly was so engrossed in her thoughts and pride that she didn't even notice the man creeping out of the alley she passed until it was too late. A greasy hand slapped over the princess's mouth, silencing her cry of surprise as she was pulled into the dingy alleyway.

"Alright, your Highness, you're gonna give me whatever gold you've got left." the man snarled, the point of a dagger glinting in front of Lilly's face.

Shaking her head to free her mouth from the man's hand, Lilly's voice trembled. "I-I don't have any more gold. I gave it away to my subjects!" she admitted as she quivered. "Please, don't hurt me! Just let me go!"

"No more gold? Gotta be kidding me..." the man grumbled, his dagger's point resting gently against Lilly's neck now. "I suppose if you don't have any cash for me to take, I'll just have to take something else. Can't walk away from mugging royalty with nothing to show for it, after all."
