Driving to the picnic

The two of you get inside the Carney's Camry, where Adela turns the engine on. The CD player soon comes to life, but Adela kills it with a press of a button.

"So I guess we're talking for the trip?"

"Trust me, it's for the best. I love my mom, but not her music taste."

"Fair enough. So what do you like to listen to?"

"Uhh... I guess you could say emo. Like Paramore and Panic! At the Disco."

You smile, thinking of the kind of debate Mike would ignite over the definition of 'emo'. "Fair enough."

"That's what my big sis liked, so I kinda latched onto it."

"Makes sense."

"What about you?"

You proceed to talk about your favorite music which I can't decide for you as this is written in 2nd person. Plus this gave me a chance to break the fourth wall and I find that amusing.

"Cool." Adela says whilst giving an approving nod as if she understands your music taste. (I guess this sentence is kind of awkward if your favorite bands are P!ATD and Paramore huh?)

"So does your sister live here?"

"She lives in Everton, which is close enough I guess."

"What does she do?"

"She's a primary school teacher."

"She enjoy it?"

"Yeah, for some reason she loves working with those little monkies."

"Guess we agree on that."

The two of you laugh together before you say "Can't wait to meet her."

"It'll happen, I'm sure."

"So, uhh, this your first picnic in a while?"

"Yeah. About a decade I think... yeah. What about you?"

"I think this my first one."

After a giggle, Adela says "Happy to pop your picnic cherry."

The two of you begin to roar with laughter before Adela makes the turn for the national park. When she pulls up, you notice that there are a few cars around, telling you that there may be some potential voyeurs. That is if you dare to do anything out in public today.
