All the remaining tutorials are uneventful

One side effect of such a severe caning is that April is clearly very uncomfortable for the rest of the tutorial. She is in such agony that she is wiggling constantly, trying to find a comfortable place to sit, but her efforts are fruitless. Her face is a delight to watch, shifting between a thousand expressions of discomfort and pain—grimaces, winces, and so many more all grace her lovely face. Debbie looks a bit distracted as well, constantly glancing over at April, concern visible in her eyes. The whipped fresher shifts positions several times, trying to lean on one side of her bottom, or on her thighs, or shift back in the chair, but you were so thorough that nothing she can do relieves her suffering.

However, despite her discomfort, she is still able to concentrate on the lesson and you begin by discussing the girls' essays in detail. You point out where Debbie's prose could be tightened up and give April advice on how to further improve her style and content, whilst encouraging your students to give their own input. After quizzing them on the deeper implications of their assignments, you are satisfied that they have a firm grasp of the material and as you watch them walk stiffly and awkwardly to the exit, still clearly in pain, you are hopeful that next week there will be no need for either of them to receive the cane.

The rest of the afternoon passes off without incident as you tutor each pair of freshers in turn. A couple of them require six of the best for getting an A-minus, but they take their chastisement well and you're confident that they'll do better in a week's time.

As the last students thank you for your help and file out, you wonder what to do with your evening. Normally, you would go home and pop a ready meal in the oven while you start marking the essays your intermediates have emailed you, but this is your first day in a world you have shaped to your own desires.
