A peaceful walk

"I wouldn't mind going for bit more of a walk." Adela says.

"May as well whilst we're out here."

"Let's go."

The two of you head back to the trail, finding a couple nearby. You give them a nervous glance as they wave at you, making you wonder if they know what you've done. With an awkward smile, you wave back at them before the two of you go your separate ways. Adela and you proceed to walk around the forest, appreciating the calmness compared to your everyday life in the city.

About half an hour later, the two of you arrive back at the Carney's Camry. Adela looks at the clock, which reads 1:49. She then turns to you and says "Guess we should be getting back."

"Think you're parents are getting nervous?"

"Nah, they trust me, but I've had enough."

"Fair enough." She then starts the engine as you say "Maybe later we could go out for dinner?"

"I'll think about it."

Adela pulls up in her parent's driveway. Inside, you find her parents watching TV, where Mrs. Carney says "Oh. Didn't expect you to be back so soon."

"Yeah we've done enough for today." Adela shrugs.

"So how was your day out?"

"Pretty good." You say.

"So much happen out in the woods?"

"Not really." Adela interjects before you can stammer your way through an answer that doesn't involve what you actually did. "Just had lunch and went for bit of a walk."

"That's fair. So do guys wanna stick around for another drink, or do you wanna get home?"

"I'm right." Adela says.

Taking the hint, you say "Yeah I think we might get going. Been a pleasure meeting you two."

"You too dear." Mrs. Carney says. "See you soon."

"Yeah, see you."
