* Crossovers *

There are some games, not many but a few, that really not only don't fit any one or two existing genres, but also don't create a new genre of their own because they are really just aspects of several existing genres mashed together in both equal mesure and a way no one had ever tried before.

The most legendary of these of course is SPORE, combining aspects of Eat-&-Grow, RPG, RTS, Flight Simulator, And Four-X games with a uneque set of Creature, Outfit, Vehicle and Building design elements.

There have been many other such games, the legendary DWARF FORTRESS could be argued to be one, blending Rogue Likes, Business Management, Epic Adventure, Four-X and Harvesting → Crafting → Building...

Most such games are something so unexpected and off the wall that no attempt is ever made to copy them or create sequels, though often there are updates or expansions of the game itself.
